Greetings from Camp Anokijig!

I hope that today finds your family safe, well, and enjoying the holiday season. Winter has definitely arrived here at camp with about 14 inches of snow so far to be ready for our winter groups.  However, as we clear today’s snow, we are planning for the warmth of the first day of summer camp 2026, when we’ll be heading into Anokijig’s 100^th anniversary year!

I know many of you have been waiting to see when you can sign up for summer camp.  I’m happy to report that the time is here again.  For those of you that have been with us for a few years you’ve experienced a few different versions of online registration to varied success. Well, I’m happy to say that a modern version of Anokijig registration site is live! After much research we found that a pre-built system called UltraCamp would do the functions that we’ve needed and should be a fairly smooth system to work. It will have registrations for all your family’s campers in one site and the onboarding forms there too! One less password for you to keep track of.  As with any other new site it will take a bit of learning for you, but this one has account features that most of us have experienced at many other sites like shopping sites.

What will you see that is different? The key difference from last year is that when you start the registration process, as a Parent you will create a family account login. That will be your “Parent” or “Family” login and password going forward for the future, this year and later. You’ll click new user to start the process. Once in, you can add other “Parents” to your family list and then you will add your campers to your account. No separate password for your campers this time. Once you have a camper in, you can go right to register them for their sessions.  One unique part, you’ll choose the basics for your camper, then the system will ask if you’d like to add another camper before you finish all of the options on the first. This feature threw us off at first, but it is actually a cool one.  By moving to get your other campers in right away you are saving a spot for them on the system, much like when you buy concert tickets and you choose your seat you have it locked up or held for certain amount of time while you finish the details. When sessions start to get filled this will be a great feature. Once you put in all the details for any of your registrations you will then be able move to your Cart to pay for all the registrations you’ve chosen (just like any shopping site). 

Just after the Cart you’ll see another new feature. UltraCamp has an optional travel insurance that you can purchase if you like. Camp Anokijig is not affiliated and has no financial interest in this product. This is offered solely as a convenience and is completely optional. If you would like to bypass it just scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “I decline” button

The payment features also have new options.  In the cart you can choose to use ACH direct from your bank or any major credit card to pay with, like most shopping sites. One note, UltraCamp is set up as a secure payment processor, hence their encrypted servers are where any credit or ach information is stored, not on a camp computer.  The system will also prompt you to choose a payment schedule: one lump sum, deposit and a later lump sum, or monthly payments. If you choose the payment plans the system will notify you a few days in advance of the payment being processed and since you can log back into the system after registration, if you need to change a card or add an option you can do that up to 6 weeks prior to arrival.
