General Camperships (Financial Assistance) – OPEN

Each year, many of Anokijig’s supporters choose to support Camperships through donations for the Scholarship Fund.  These funds are used to help send as many children as possible to a week at summer resident camp.  Anyone can apply for financial support through Anokijig’s Scholarship Fund.  Both full and partial camperships may be awarded based on financial need

Applicant Requirements

     

      • Ages 7-16

      • Awarded based on immediate financial need

      • Fill out application form provided by Anokijig main office

    Other Campership Opportunities

    Phil Binks Camperships (SouthEast Wisconsin) – On Hold

    In memory of Phil Binks, a longtime Anokijig supporter and alumnus, the Binks family chooses several children to receive full week scholarships, and $100 in the campers’ Trading Post account. 

    Applicant Requirements

       

        • Applicants must be 8-12 years old

       Knighthood Essay Contest (Racine area) – On Hold

      Annually, the Camp Anokijig Knighthood Campership Fund supports an essay contest to send between 8-10 children to Camp.  The essay prompts and deadline change yearly, but submissions are usually due in early February. 

      Applicant Requirements

         

          • Must live in and/or go to school in Racine County

          • Ages 7-16

        2025 Deadline: March 15!

        Curtis D. Neal Foundation, Essay Contest (Milwaukee area) – On Hold

        The Curtis Neal Foundation, in memory of an Anokijig alumnus who worked to bring groups of children to Anokijig, offers several camperships each summer based on an essay contest. 

        Applicant Requirements

           

            • Applicants must be going into grades 2-10 in the Fall

            • Live in and/or go to school in Milwaukee County

            • Submit essay based on one of the provided prompts

          Zack Baun/Johnsonville Camper Program (Wisconsin)

          Zack Baun (NFL linebacker for the New Orleans Saints) and Johnsonville fund children from Wisconsin to come to Anokijig on full week scholarships, including $50 in each campers’ Trading Post and a package of  camping essentials. 

          Requirements

             

              • Must live in Wisconsin

              • Ages 7-16

            ESS Cares (BIPOC Youth) – 2024 Application Available Soon

            The ESS Summer Camp Scholarship Program was specifically designed to support BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) youth ages 13-16.  The program is available for 10 summer camps across the country, including Camp Anokijig.  Includes a full week of summer camp.

            Applicant Requirements

               

                • Applicants must be 13-16 years old

                • Race falls under the BIPOC umbrella

                • No restrictions on location

                • Fill out online application form, including a short essay answer to the question “Why do you want to go to camp?”

              To apply, fill out the online application form on the ESS website.  Make sure to select “Camp Anokijig” when it asks which camp you want to attend!  If selected, ESS will cover the cost for a full week of summer camp.
